Throwing w/ More
Have you ever dreamed of throwing taller vases or wanna try to make a plant pot, but find yourself struggling to center larger amounts of clay or keep your walls from collapsing? Join us on Jan 24th Saturday 10:00am-3:00pm (with half and hour break )and finally conquer those those forms in your mind.
Throwing with more is a workshop that is geared towards intermediate potters who want to learn how to make larger forms and increase their throwing techniques in order to handle more clay. Working with weights up to 5kg, this workshop will take you throw techniques for centring and throwing larger amounts of clay, as well as teaching you techniques to connect two or more pieces on the wheel to make your vessels even larger!
In this workshop, you'll learn how to throw much more clay with confidence and control. Our experienced instructor will walk you through techniques and tips for maintaining structure and balance throughout the process. Whether you've attempted large forms before or you're just starting to push past your current limits, this class is designed to challenge and inspire you.
This class is intended for potters with some experience, so you should feel comfortable centering 1 kg of clay on your own. After the workshop, you’re welcome to return during drop-in hours to trim and glaze your piece, or simply take your new knowledge back to your own studio and continue exploring the world of large-scale throwing.
If you're ready to throw bigger, think bolder, and expand your ceramic practice, this is the class for you.
