"I am a Beginner!": Level 2 Wheel Throwing Class

$499.00

Ready to move beyond the basics? Our 8-week Level 2 wheel throwing course at TOUCI Ceramic Studio in Victoria, BC is designed for potters who already have a foundation on the wheel and want to build more confidence, consistency, and control.

You don’t need to have taken Level 1 at TOUCI to join us. If you can comfortably centre approximately 700g of clay and have previous wheel-throwing experience, you’re ready to start exploring what comes next.

Throughout the course, we’ll build on your existing pottery skills, troubleshoot habits that may be holding you back, and work toward throwing larger, faster, and with greater precision. You’ll explore more advanced wheel-throwing techniques and forms while developing a better understanding of proportion, consistency, and your own making process. There’s also more room in Level 2 to bring your own ideas and projects to the wheel.

This class is intentionally capped at 8 students, creating a more independent studio environment while still giving you access to plenty of instructor guidance. You’ll be learning alongside other potters at a similar stage, with time to practise, experiment, make mistakes, and develop your own approach.

The course includes all clay, studio tools, materials, glazing, and firing for 5 finished pieces. We continue to focus on quality over quantity — choose the work you’re genuinely proud of and take those pieces through the full ceramic process. Additional pieces can be fired for $30 each, which covers glazing, materials, handling, and kiln space.

Your finished pottery will generally be ready for pickup approximately 1–2 months after the course.

After Level 2, you may be ready to continue developing your practice through advanced pottery classes, TOUCI drop-in studio time, membership, or one-on-one Throwing Doctor sessions for more specific technical challenges.

Previous wheel-throwing experience required. Classes are for ages 16 and above.

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

Cancellation requests must be made by email at least 14 days before the first class. Cancellations made more than 14 days before the course start date are eligible for a refund, subject to an $85 administration fee per person. No refunds will be issued within 14 days of the course start date.

If you need to reschedule an individual class, please email us at least 48 hours before your scheduled class. Rescheduling is subject to a $35 administration fee per person and availability. We recommend checking all eight course dates carefully before booking.

If TOUCI needs to cancel the course due to insufficient enrolment, we’ll contact you approximately one week before the first class with the available options.

Finished student pottery will be kept at TOUCI Ceramic Studio for up to six months after the course ends. It is the student’s responsibility to arrange pickup within this period.

You’ll receive an instant confirmation after booking, followed by a welcome email with class details approximately one week before your first class.
