Studio Time : Pottery Drop In Hours

$20.00

Want some extra time with clay outside of your scheduled class? TOUCI’s pottery drop-in studio hours in Victoria, BC give current and previous students independent studio time to practise wheel throwing, hand-building, glazing, or work on their own projects.

Whether you want to keep practising during or between classes, work through something you learned that week, or simply spend a few quiet hours making, drop-in gives you the space to work independently at your own pace alongside our clay community. Put on a podcast, practise that form one more time, or just come play with clay.

When: Saturdays, 9:00am–12:00pm & Mondays, 10:00am–1:00pm
Sign-ups: Open every Tuesday at 12:00pm for the upcoming sessions
Cost: $20 per hour + GST, with a one-hour minimum

Drop-in hours are exclusively for current and previous TOUCI students who have completed at least one multi-week pottery course and are comfortable working independently. There is no dedicated instructor during drop-in hours, so this is independent practice time rather than a pottery class. If you still need help with fundamentals such as centering, we recommend another course or a Throwing Doctor session first.

Your first hour reserves your spot, and additional studio time is charged based on how long you stay. All drop-in time must be booked in advance, and students are required to check in and out with studio staff.

Basic studio tools are provided. Clay, glaze, and firing must be purchased through TOUCI, and outside clay or glaze is not permitted. You’re welcome to bring your own pottery tools, but they must leave with you after each session and TOUCI cannot be responsible for personal tools left at the studio.

Works in progress that have not been touched for two weeks will be cleared from the studio, unless you’ve made arrangements with our team in advance. Finished pottery must be collected within three months of completion. Due to limited studio storage, we’re unable to make exceptions for work left beyond these periods.

Cleaning your wheel, tools, workspace, and surrounding area is part of your booked studio time. Please leave enough time at the end of your session to clean your area properly. If additional cleaning is required after you leave, a $35 cleaning fee will be charged. Repeated issues may result in suspension or loss of drop-in studio access.

Studio bats are limited to 1–2 per person so we can keep enough available for classes. Our team may transfer work from bats onto boards when needed. Drop-in students are not permitted to operate, load, unload, adjust, or otherwise handle the kilns.

Firing is charged separately according to our current studio firing rates. Any outstanding firing fees must be paid before work can be fired.

If you find yourself coming to drop-in regularly, our pottery studio membership is a better-value option and gives you more consistent studio time.
